Our trip to Germany

The group recently returned from a tour to Germany where they performed concerts in Berlin, Bonn & Hamburg. The trip was made possible in part by a generous research and travel grant from Hofsta University where group members Laurie Friedman and Judith Dansker serve as faculty members.

The Hevereh Ensemble was also a recent recipients of a grant from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation to present Master Class/Concerts the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts.

The Group has traveled to Eastern Europe where they presented concerts in Prague and Krakow. They presented concerts in Museums, Schools, and a special gala concert for the Spanish Synagogue in Prague.

Current plans include a Tour to the Netherlands and Belgium for the summer of 2014 and they were recently invited to perform at the Newport Chamber Music Festival in July 2014.

The Hevreh Ensemble also announces an exciting new addition the group: Keyboardist Adam Morrison- MFA World Music Studies California Institute of the Arts. Adam Morrison has been active a player, producer and teacher in the jazz and ethnic music scene in NYC for the past 20 years.

Our CD “Dance of the Sheydim” was released in 2007. The selections on the CD feature compositions by group member/composer Jeff Adler. The works are often inspired by themes from Religious and Racial Tolerance, World Peace and Environmental Sustainability, and combine classical, jazz and world music elements.
