A Drop of Kindness
Looking back on the past year, Hevreh Ensemble had a busy and productive season:
We started a new collaborative project with the photographer Loli Kantor that will incorporate images from her recent book “Beyond the Forest” - Jewish Presence in Eastern Europe 2004-2012.
We recorded a new CD and were delighted to be joined by guest artists Shane Shanahan percussion),George Rush (double bass), Naren Budhkar(tabla) and internationally recognized string quartet ETHEL.
Group member and composer Jeff Adler continues to amaze us with five new stirring and beautiful compositions.
We have presented concerts and master classes at unique venues including the Metropolitan Museum of Art Balcony Series, Hofstra University and the Peace Through Understanding Series in Salisbury, CT.
Looking ahead to 2018, we are excited to announce that:
For the 2018 season, we have been invited to participate in the Jewish Cultural Festival in Krakow, Poland on June 29th
During this tour, we will also present concerts in Warsaw and Berlin.
We will present several “Cabin Fever House Concerts” in Northwest, CT in late February to help support our recording projects, programs and upcoming tour to Poland.
We are planning educational programs with the renowned children’s theater Grumbling Gryphons.
We have been invited to present a collaborative concert with photographer Loli Kantor at Bard College at Simon Rock in Great Barrington, MA at the Daniels Arts Center in September 2018.
None of this would be possible without the warmth and generosity of our longtime supporters. We hope that you might consider a timely year-end donation to help support our recording projects, educational programs and tours.
